Just Added

Some new work added to the shop!

I actually finished this Butterfly Series a while ago and have it hung in my daughter Lily's room above her bed (see top photo).  I wasn't sure if I was going to add it to the shop, but the more I look each day in her room the more I love it.  I'm hoping you will, too.

I also added the "Miracles" print to the shop.  This was a design I finished a year ago for charity.  It is still a favorite of mine so I decided to make it available for purchase again.

With the move, being 8 months pregnant and chasing a toddler around I haven't had as much time/energy as I would like to create.  I have really missed coming up with new designs and am hoping to find some time in the next few weeks to sit down and put the ideas in my head into Illustrator.  Only a few more weeks until baby girl arrives and the craziness starts all over again!

{press play to begin watching}

Kirsten from 6th Street Design School did a segment on KSL's Studio 5 about her favorite places to find artwork on Etsy. So thrilled that she included Sugar Fresh in her list of favorites! She showcased The Counting Peacock and Together Forever. Thanks, Kirsten!

Sugar Fresh Turns One

Wow, I can't believe it's been one whole year since I opened my shop!  I never would've dreamed my little hobby would grow into a business that I am truly proud of.   I can't tell you how grateful I feel to be able to do something I love.  It's been a fun year and I am excited to see where things will go from here.

Thank you for all of your support!

Art For Molly

This adorable baby is Molly Campbell.  She was born on November 23rd, 2010.  On Christmas Eve she was running a fever so her parents took her to the emergency room.  After hours of waiting and numerous tests, a parent's worst fear became a reality.  Molly was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cells that was rapidly filling her little body.  At only 28 days old her sweet life had barely begun.

Molly is two months old now and doing well.  She lives each day at the hospital, undergoing chemo therapy and countless other treatments. She is expected to remain at the hospital for the remainder of her first year of life, if not longer.

You can read more about her story and how to help here.  There are lots of people coming together for fund raising events for Molly.  An Etsy shop called Art For Molly was opened for her cause, and I have donated a design that will be sold exclusively in the shop.  This design was originally a custom order for a mother of twins.  I thought the saying was fitting and would be a good addition to Molly's shop.

To find out how you can help, visit Molly's website.  If you have an item you'd like to donate for the shop or if you want to purchase an item, you can visit the Art For Molly shop here.  The shop is stocked with handmade art, jewelry and baby items from other Etsy sellers.  All the proceeds from sales will be donated to Molly's fund.

Bloggers Give Back

Have you heard about Bloggers Give Back?  It is an amazing project put together to help a family in need each year.  This family lost everything in a house fire and were left with only the clothes on their backs.  Donations have been made by bloggers and crafters which will go up for auction on December 15th.  Proceeds will go to the family.  How wonderful!

I am auctioning two 8x10's to one lucky bidder.  As of today there are 43 items up for auction, and more are added each day.  You can give your support by bidding on the 15th!

Custom Birth Poster

I have been kicking around the idea of offering a custom birth poster for awhile now.  I attempted a few different designs, but never quite loved the finished product.  I just finished this design today and think it turned out just right.

Shown in 'lemon', but offered in an assortment of custom colors in my shop.

Share the Love

Let me introduce you to Emily of Anderson Family Crew.  Her family is in the process of adopting a little girl named Elsa from Ethiopia.  International adoption is expensive, and they are lacking the funds needed to finalize the adoption and bring her home.  Her friend Amy had a wonderful idea to do a fundraiser by raffling donated handmade items on Emily's blog.  When I was first contacted to be a part of this special project I knew I wanted to help.

Visit Emily's blog where you can enter to win any of the five awesome bundles of goodies which include two of my prints.
Check out the details here.
What a great cause.  Best wishes to the Anderson family!

Etsy Love: Halloween Costumes

The question on my mind as October approaches:  Lily's Halloween costume, to make or to buy?
After seeing these creative costumes on Etsy, I might be leaning towards buy.

Open for Business

My Etsy Shop is now open!

It was exactly one month ago today I had the idea to design artwork for children. It has been so much fun creating a vision in my head, designing, and having it come to life on paper. I love my new hobby! Even though it is a little scary putting my work out there, I have really enjoyed the whole process and have learned a lot already. I am working on many new projects - in my head and on my computer - and will post them here when they are completed. These prints are my very first and just added today.
